LMT Observatory
The telescope will be operated by an organization named "the
Large Millimeter Telescope Observatory (LMTO)", which is
a civil legal entity in Mexico.
The LMTO will be in charge of the telescope during the
commissioning and operations phases. However,
even during telescope construction, the LMTO has important
responsibilities for
the direction of some aspects of the project. The LMTO will take formal
responsibility for the telescope and operations at the site when
engineering
acceptance tests begin at the completion of telescope construction. The
LMTO will accept full authority over operating the telescope
at the time of its acceptance from the contractor.
Presently there are eight LMTO working groups: management, facilities,
computing, instrumentation, commissioning, operations, science, and
